The major focus of Administrative Computing is to operate and maintain the enterprise information systems for The University of Arizona. The major systems that comprise Administrative Computing are the finance and accounting system (Financial Records System- FRS), human resources and payroll (Personal Services Operating Systems-PSOS), and the student information system (Student Information System- SIS/Matrix). In addition, there is a strong emphasis on data warehousing and database services.
Secondary to the major focus is support of The University of Arizona’s web page- UAInfo. Web applications that support both employees and students have been developed and continually enhanced. Employee Link is a self service application meant to aid employees in personnel related activities. Student Link is a similar self service application for students allowing them to register for classes, pay fees online, view class availability, determine financial aid status, and other functions.
System support is also provided to an internal departmental application called Technology Management Information Systems (TMIS) that supports the business functions of computing and communications.
The newest function of Administrative Computing is the Project Management Office. This workgroup will formalize the project methodology required to successfully implement new practices and systems.
